Janelle Monae looked absolutely stunning in the video for her new single, "PrimeTime".  While still sticking with the black and white color palate she's known for, it seems the songstress is exploring more feminine designs.  Case in point, the body hugging skirt set with a cropped top and midi-length skirt, paired with sky-high, two-toned ankle strap pumps.  See the video and find pieces similar to Janelle's after the jump.

The Good Life in the New Year

 The dawning of a new year presents the promise of a fresh start; the opportunity for another chance to do 'it' right or better; the occasion to pursue a long-time dream; a time of new possibilities. For many, a new year ushers in a renewed focus on one's desires, dreams and ambitions.  Hence, New Year's Resolutions . . . perhaps you have made a few. You might even be counted with those of us who, over  the years, have made a few and failed at a few. Even yet, you might be counted with those of us who, after continually failing at New Year Resolutions, have since dropped the label - but still embrace a focused approach toward a better life as we embark on a new year.  

 There is a foundational principle that, when put into practice, will fuel your efforts toward living a better life. This principle will cause you to succeed in every area of life. It is the principle of giving God first place in all you do. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed. (Proverbs 16:3) Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

 Put God first in all you do and you will have success in the new year!

Soul Inspired: Savor This Holiday Season, Part Two

 

 

Significantly more meaningful than the allure of the festive meals and the giving and receiving of gifts is the true reason for the Christmas holiday season: the birth of Jesus Christ.

 This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joseph, her fiancé, was a good man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement quietly. As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. "Joseph, son of David," the angel said, "do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit. And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:18-21)

 In the midst of the whirlwind of holiday activity, take time to reflect on the fact that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

 Savor this holiday season . . . And to God be the glory!

 In the midst of the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and festivities, it can be so easy to lose sight of the reason for the season: it is in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.  Savor the season in whatever way you choose; attend a Christmas service, reflect on the story of Christ’s birth (Luke 2:1-21), mediate on the wonders of Almighty God becoming man for our sake.

 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)  Enjoy the holidays . . . and to God be the glory!
